Power Skating Clinic 

Each player will work on edge control, body balance, power stroking (forward and backward), stopping, and transitions.Drills will develop players into positional skating.Stick handling drills shooting instruction will lead into game situational drills.

Learn to Play Hockey

Players will have fun learning basic balance and edge control, forward and backward power skating, crossovers, stops, transitions forward to backward and backward to forward.Basic stick handling, skating with the puck and shooting will be taught.This class is designed to help beginner players in developing the skills before evaluations for the upcoming season.

Adult Beginner & Intermediate Clinic

This is an intense clinic for players who are uncomfortable in game skating.This clinic is designed to help players who are new to the game or who have played for a couple of years but are not improving in the way they expected.Skating is 80% of the game and Kristen techniques enable players to feel the ice in all different strokes.Players will work on edge control and balance; power stroking forward and backward skating, power crossovers, transitions one-on-one, starts, and stops.Stickhandling basics will work into game situational skating with the puck.

Off-Ice Conditioning Series

Participant must have good cross training shoes, running shoes, bike with helmet, roller blades with pads. A training schedule will be provided to participants when equipment is needed.Car-pooling can be set up by TPS if you are interested please mark on registration form.Each player will be given a journal and work out spreadsheet with accomplishments throughout the series.If players have the ability to use a heart monitor, this will help in overall endurance. * this is not required
The endurance seriesis a four-week series to improve overall endurance.The use of biking, roller blading, slide board and running will be used to help players develop the endurance needed for efficient skating.
The strength and foot speed series is a five week session where players will use resistance training, ploymetrics, balance boards, and medicine balls to achieve the strength and leg power to succeed in all situations during hockey games. 


Beginning Coaches Series

This class is based on training of the coaches that will work with young players.  Skills will be covered to help each coach teach skating better.  We look at equipment and how it can effect players, different technical skills and how to see the player skate and improve their ability from where they are at now.

Currently TPS is working on a manual for the beginning coach that will be incorporated into this clinic.  The clinic consists of off ice discussions and on-ice pratical
information.
